Ingredients

  • 2 cups full-fat chilled milk
  • 2 tablespoon instant coffee powder
  • 2 tablespoon sugar or honey, maple syrup or your preferred sweetener
  • 4-6 ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup (optional for lining the glasses)
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Grated chocolate or cocoa powder (for garnish)
  • Pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg (optional, for a flavor twist)

Instructions

1. Make the Coffee Concentrate

  • In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of instant coffee powder with 2 tablespoons of warm water (just enough to dissolve the coffee).
  • Stir until the coffee dissolves completely, forming a thick, aromatic coffee concentrate. This ensures that the coffee flavor remains bold and doesn’t dilute when mixed with milk.

2. Blend for Creaminess

  • In a blender, add the chilled milk, coffee concentrate, sugar, and ice cubes. Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds to 1 minute until the mixture turns smooth and frothy.
  • If you prefer a creamier texture, you can also add a scoop of vanilla ice cream at this stage and blend for an extra 10 seconds.

3. Prepare the Glasses

  • For a café-like presentation, drizzle chocolate syrup along the inner sides of the serving glasses in a spiral or zig-zag pattern. This adds a subtle hint of chocolate flavor and gives your cold coffee a stunning, professional look.
  • Add extra ice cubes to the glasses if you prefer your coffee extra cold.

4. Serve the Coffee

  • Pour the blended coffee into the prepared glasses. You should see a nice foam layer on top, which is a sign of well-blended coffee.

5. Garnish (Optional)

  • For a more indulgent touch, top the coffee with a generous swirl of whipped cream.
  • Sprinkle some grated chocolate or a dusting of cocoa powder on top for a rich finish. For a flavor twist, you can even add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg.

6. Serve Immediately

  • Serve your cold coffee immediately while it’s chilled and frothy. Stir well to mix in the whipped cream, and enjoy a deliciously creamy coffee treat!

Notes

Tips & Variations:
  • Sweetness: Adjust the sugar level based on your taste. If you prefer a healthier option, substitute sugar with natural sweeteners like honey or stevia.
  • Coffee Strength: If you like your coffee stronger, increase the amount of coffee powder. For a milder coffee flavor, reduce the coffee powder or add more milk.
  • Iced Coffee Cubes: To avoid diluting your cold coffee, freeze leftover coffee into ice cubes and use them in place of regular ice.
  • Flavor Add-ins: Try adding a dash of vanilla extract, caramel syrup, or hazelnut syrup to enhance the flavor profile.
  • Vegan Option: Swap regular milk with plant-based alternatives like almond, oat, or soy milk, and use vegan whipped cream and ice cream for a completely dairy-free version.
